![]() The steamed vegetables were dry and so overdone I honestly don't know how they were still holding their shape. Poorly plated with a sneeze of gravy on it, it appeared to be more dehydrated diced vegetables than actual meat. Presliced and having sat around in a steam try, it had been seared (maybe to order?) and then sent to table. The meal arrived and his tri-tip portion was obviously the wrong size he chose and clearly overdone. The corn muffins were obviously from a mix, being far too sweet and so soft and mushy we could barely pick them up let alone butter them. The soup was tortilla soup and I thought it ok, but he found it just bland and also too peppery. My buddy and I both ordered their full meals, both starting with soup, a corn muffin and then the entree. ![]() That out of the way, this was literally the worst meal I have ever had while travelling. both the host and our server were good at their jobs and seemed nice. Moreīefore I write this review I want to say the staff here were lovely. I think we will give them one more try and if the "wannabe cook screw it up again we will just leave and not bother with their lack of effort. It is not close to us unless you consider a 30 mile drive close. I am stating to look for a new restaurant but we have to stay close as we take my brother with us and he lives in Bountiful. This place also just raised their prices a buck, which irradiated me even more. Just plopping them down and turning completely over once and then letting them get way past well done. That is caused by the cook not stirring them up. I mean that they were hard to bite into and half raw. The hash browns were cooked so hard on the outside and under cooked on the inside. I know they have to have the hash brown on the grill ready to serve up. You can have a choice of Russet (white) potato hash browns or red home fries. When I ask her about the lack of cheese I also ask if english was his second language. Last Wednesday the server even wrote it on the order to the cook. ![]() I have mentioned this to the servers and the manager, Thomas. There was not enough cheese to equal a nickel. I know how much cheese and eggs cost and I do not think that a, 3 medium egg omelette cuts it. There was supposed to be cheese in it and on it. The portions on the Omelette seemed to shrink. I have been ordering the :HOBO OMELETTE". Having said that we are now finding ourselves in the same position at the, Black Bear, in Bountiful, Utah. with once a week for three and a fair plus tip. The turn over on personell also helped chase us away after a couple of years. We started going to the Black Bear in, Bountiful, Utah because the Ihop in Centerville, Ut had lost its shine and was serving cheap coffee and a non dairy creamer. I hope the loser who wants to be the big cheese enjoys his missing tip.įortunately there are other eating establishments in the area and we found one where my Wife thought the food was better. I think that when you spend $50.00, several times a month that you should have some say on where you sit. In the past the manager has been our server and did a good job. The manager has seemed to be unable to control the cooks in the past and I guess that it continues on to the serving staff. I told him that we would leave before we sat in a crowd and then the manager thomas appeared and I told him what the problem was and we left. We have never in the past had any problem choosing where we desired. I told him that a table about 12 to 15 feet away would do and he told me that they have a seating order that will be used. My Wife and I both have hearing aids and with them you not only try to hear what the people you are with are saying but you pick up ALL the ambient noise from the other tables.Īs we were going to our table I could see that he was going to put us in with other dinners and the hearing problem would be there. On the 6th of July we went in and a person who did not know us was doing the seating. They will not fail due to the loss of our business but we usually spend about $1,500 or more a year going to breakfast with my brother. that they would get one last chance with us. I described how their cook was not intelligent enough to make an omelette and put the advertised cheese inside to keep the other ingredients from falling out when you ate it. ![]() I recently wrote a review on this same Black Bear Restaurant.
